Armando Mercado
Coordinator, Geographic Information Systems - Peru
Armando studied geography and is a Master’s candidate in Environmental Science, specializing in Hydrology, at the Universidad Nacional Agraria La Molina. He joined WCS in 2011 as a Landscape Ecology and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Specialist. His work experience includes work as the GIS Coordinator for the Association for Conservation of the Amazon (ACA) and Remote Sensing/GIS Analyst for WWF in Peru. Armando has focused on models and landscape ecology metrics to understand the changing patterns of land use and wetlands.
Camila Germana
WCS Deputy Director
Camila is a forestry engineer from the Universidad Nacional Agraria La Molina in Peru and a master degree in Environmental and International Development from the East Anglia University in the UK. She has an extensive work experience in formulation, management and monitoring of conservation and development projects mainly in the areas of forest management, protected areas, landscape management and water stewardship. In addition, Camila has experience in the design, organization and facilitation of training events as well as in the facilitation of collective systematization of experience and generation of learning.
Emiliana Isasi-Catalá
Senior Data Science Specialist
Emiliana es licenciada y doctora en ciencias biológicas de la Universidad Simón Bolívar de Venezuela. Entre sus especialidades están la biología de poblaciones y de paisajes, ecología y conservación de grandes mamíferos (principalmente carnívoros y ungulados) y gestión de áreas protegidas, teniendo experiencia en el manejo de bases de datos y análisis estadísticos. Se desempeña como especialista en monitoreo de la Iniciativa de Áreas Protegidas y coordinadora del área de Ciencia de los Datos de WCS Perú desde 2017, siendo sus principales tareas, la conceptualización de proyectos científicos, el monitoreo biológico y el manejo y análisis de datos.

Guido Miranda
Wildlife Management Coordinator
Guido Miranda, born in Potosí, is a Biologist from UMSA (Universidad mayor de San Andrés) La Paz Bolivia. Since the beginning of his career, he was an associate researcher at the Limnology Unit of the Ecology Institute. He conducted his first research on the biology and ecology of cave fishes in Toro Toro National Park and hot spring fishes in Potosi. He has worked in ornamental fish projects in several areas of the Amazon. Since 2007, he is part of the WCS Bolivia team coordinating wildlife management projects with indigenous communities in northern La Paz and developing research work on fishes. He has several publications about wildlife management and Bolivian ichthyofauna.

Loyola Escamilo
Director, Madidi-Tambopata Landscape
Loyola studied forestry and made the mastery of ecotourism in the Universidad Nacional Agraria La Molina. On the professional side, she has been dedicated to conservation, working primarily in the management of protected areas and in the interpretation of natural and cultural heritage. She has also worked with various institutions such as ACCA, Conservation International, the Peruvian Society for Environmental Law and SERNANP (MINAM). From 2008, Loyola was project coordinator in Pronaturaleza, where she devoted herself to the management of conservation projects and development, monitoring of investment projects related to mining activities and infrastructure, the implementation of media campaigns and advocacy; as well as the organization and strengthening networks and thematic groups, especially in the articulation of civil society networks for advocacy in public administration.
